Merrill Academy is committed to promoting an empathetic and supportive learning environment but accept that incidents of negative behaviour between students and even bullying can happen.
We are promoting and rewarding positive, respectful behaviour from students by awarding empathy points on Classcharts and we are implementing more streamlined procedures to report incidents of negative behaviour. We are encouraging students and parents/carers to report these incidents to a member of staff or by using our new email address;
stopbullying@merrillacademy.derby.sch.uk
Concerns raised by emailing this address will be dealt with swiftly and we will aim to update parents/carers as soon as possible. Please note our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students and as a result we may not be able to respond to emails immediately.
Parents/carers are encouraged to contact the school and speak to your child's mentor or a member of the Student Engagement team if they would prefer to discuss an incident via telephone.
